Grants Fact Sheet

1. Who can apply?

Teachers, school administrators or other staff, parents, students or any member of the Hingham community whose proposal is supported by a school principal, administrator or faculty member.

2. What are the criteria for funding?

Proposals should meet one or more of the Foundation's objectives:

The HEF grant program is not intended to supplant or replace public funding of the schools.

4. Who reviews the grants?

Mini-grants:

Initial review by a committee generally comprised of at least one elementary and one secondary teacher, one parent representative from each school , 2-4 HEF Board members, a School Committee member, a community representative, and an advisory position filled by a Senior member of the School Department. Final approval is made by the full Board of Trustees of the Foundation.

Major Grants:

Reviewed and approved by the full Board of Trustees of the Foundation.

5. How do I apply?

There are now TWO ways to apply for a grant!

Both paper and online applications need to be received by the Foundation by
March 14, 2008!
